USCG License Endorsements

The following endorsements may be added to licenses of 200 tons and
    less.

Assistance Towing Endorsement

Any USCG license of 200 tons or less, including an OUPV license, may be
endorsed for Assistance towing. This endorsement authorizes the holder
to engage in commercial assistance towing within the scope of their
license. Mariners with licenses for towing vessels or with licenses of 500
gross tons or more may engage in commercial assistance towing without
    this endorsement.
